Even though Easton was taking more days off since heâd started dating Nico, he still worked more than any normal person should. Heâd been up since three, making a variety of baked goods. Flynn and Jake were back, but he was still alone in a too silent house since they both had left early for the bookstore. Easton had been fighting the urge to call Nico since two minutes after heâd woken up to an empty bed. He was tired and cranky. Everything sucked and even Easton didnât know why. He missed his giant too-rough-around-the-edges angel and nothing would be right again until he saw Nico again. It was ridiculous how dependent heâd become on Nicoâs overwhelming presence. He was a grown man who should be able to eat, bathe, and sleep without being told when and where to do those things. Yet everything felt wrong without Nico. Easton wanted to growl at his own childishness. In the past year, heâd worked so hard at becoming independent. He was, Easton reminded himself. Yet, he didnât necessarily want to be. It was a conundrum he was still learning to deal with.
The unmistakable growl of a Harley brought Eastonâs head up. He listened for half a beat before racing for the door. Once there, he straightened his clothes and tried to act like he hadnât just sprinted through the house like a complete lunatic. Fuck, he had it bad. Easton forced himself to wait to open the door until after the doorbell rang. In fact, he counted to ten so Nico wouldnât know heâd been impatiently waiting on the other side. The welcoming smile stretching his lips widened at the first sight of Nico. Goddamn, he was hot. His jeans fit just right in all the perfect places while his sleeveless shirt showed off his massive arms and tattoos. Eastonâs mouth watered. Heâd never felt more shameless.
A heated glance swept down Eastonâs body, making him tingle. âThere he is,â Nico said, before tackling Easton and tossing him over his shoulder. A loud burst of laughter exploded from Easton. Nico kicked the front door closed behind him as he headed for the recliner. Easton tried to protest the manhandling, but he couldnât stop laughing. Not to mention he could barely breathe with Nicoâs gigantic shoulder in his stomach.
Nico let Eastonâs body slide down his as he reached the chair. Eastonâs arms automatically encircled Nicoâs neck. With his feet still hanging more than a foot from the floor, Nico captured Eastonâs mouth. Nico sat. Easton happily straddled Nicoâs body while their tongues played. Happiness lived in Nicoâs arms. His fingers found Nicoâs soft hair. He toyed with the locks while sucking the manâs bottom lip.
Nico kissed a path to Eastonâs ear, then on to his neck. His fingers found the leg of Eastonâs shorts and slipped inside. âIâve never seen you this dressed down. Itâs hot.â
Easton tilted his head, giving Nico all the access to his throat. It was true. Heâd found a pair of cutoff sweats and an old t-shirt when heâd gotten up.
